Born in China almost 4000 years ago, Go (called Weiqi in China and Baduk in Korea) is one of the oldest mind games and today it is played by thousands of fans in the whole world.
In Romania Go is played since 1944 - 1950, but never got popular until the late 80's. Thanks to Florin Berciu, a physics teacher at the time, the game of Go has been introduced in Baia Mare in 1993.
